چکیده

Several Wilson loops on several lattice sizes are computed in Perturbation Theory via a stochastic method. Applications include: Renormalons, the Mass Term in HQET and (possibly) the β-function. Outlook Wilson Loops (WL) were the historic playground (and success. . .) of Numerical Stochastic Perturbation Theory (NSPT) for Lattice Gauge Theory [1]. Having by now an increased computing power available, we are computing high perturbative orders of various WL on various lattice sizes in Lattice SU (3). Physical motivations range over a variety of issues (not every one within reach, at the moment): Renormalons and Lattice Perturbation Theory (LPT), the Mass Term in Heavy Quark Effective Theory (HQET) and the Lattice β-function.

Renormalon disappearance in Borel sum of the 1 / N expansion of the Gross - Neveu model mass gap

The exact mass gap of the O(N) Gross-Neveu model is known, for arbitrary N , from non-perturbative methods. However, a “naive” perturbative expansion of the pole mass exhibits an infinite set of infrared renormalons at order 1/N , formally similar to the QCD heavy quark pole mass renormalons, potentially leading to large O(Λ) perturbative ambiguities. We examine the precise vanishing mechanism ...

Perturbative Wilson loops with massive sea quarks on the lattice

We present O(g) calculations of both planar and non-planar Wilson loops for various actions in the presence of sea quarks. In particular, the plaquette, the static potential and the static self energy are calculated to this order for massive Wilson, Sheikholeslami-Wohlert and Kogut-Susskind fermions, including the mass and nf dependence. The results can be used to obtain αMS and mb(mb) from lat...

Perturbative expansions from Monte Carlo simulations at weak coupling: Wilson loops and the static-quark self-energy

Perturbative coefficients for Wilson loops and the static-quark self-energy are extracted from Monte Carlo simulations at weak coupling. The lattice volumes and couplings are chosen to ensure that the lattice momenta are all perturbative. Twisted boundary conditions are used to eliminate the effects of lattice zero modes and to suppress nonperturbative finite-volume effects due to Z(3) phases. ...

We study idealizations of the full nonlinear Schwinger-Dyson equations for the asymptotically free theory of φ 3 in six dimensions in its meta-stable vacuum. We begin with the cubic nonlinearity and go on to all-order nonlin-earities which contain instanton effects. In an asymptotically free theory the relevant Schwinger-Dyson equations are homogeneous and ultraviolet finite and perturbative me...

Phase transition in D=3 Yang-Mills Chern-Simons gauge theory.

SU(N) Yang-Mills theory in three dimensions, with a Chern-Simons term of level k (an integer) added, has two dimensionful coupling constants, gk and gN ; its possible phases depend on the size of k relative to N . For k ≫ N , this theory approaches topological Chern-Simons theory with no Yang-Mills term, and expectation values of multiple Wilson loops yield Jones polynomials, as Witten has show...
